Elden Ring: Where To Find The Caelid Map Fragments

Posted by Beatrice Clogston on Sunday, June 30, 2024

The Lands Between’s eastern region of Caelid in Elden Ring is divided into the two territories of Dragonbarrow and Caelid, which means each area possesses a Map Fragment for players to find. Mainland Caelid sits to the south of the province, while Dragonbarrow makes up the north area. Once the Tarnished have found these two Key Items, the region’s map will become visible for exploration in Elden Ring.

First, the Map Fragment for Caelid is located along the main path, south of the Swamp of Aeonia but northeast of the Catacombs. While it is possible to reach while traveling along the road, players are recommended to use the easier route of using the Transporter Trap within Limgrave’s Dragon-burnt Ruins. These ruins sit on the south side of the marsh, east of the Church of Elleh. Players must search for an entrance that leads to an underground crypt. There will be several weak enemies and two rabid dogs guarding the area, but they shouldn’t pose much of a threat.

Descend the downward tunnel until reaching a treasure chest and open the trunk to be teleported to the Sellia Crystal Tunnel in Caelid. Several corrupted miners will be patrolling and guarding the mineshafts, but the Tarnished should be able to easily slip by them to the Site of Grace in Elden Ring. After exiting the Crystal Tunnel, ride Torrent southward through the swamp until reaching a Nomadic Merchant camped beside the main path. Nearby sits an obelisk with the Caelid Map Fragment.

Caelid’s second Map Fragment for Dragonbarrow is located naturally in the northern area of the region. Tarnished can either make the trek north from where the Caelid Map Fragment is found or begin their journey from the Smoldering Church to travel east towards the next Fragment. Be wary of the high-level enemies along the way, and use Torrent to jump over or rush past any fatal confrontations. Once players arrive near the Caelem Ruins, they can use their horse to leap across the ravine to reach Dragonbarrow West.

As players advance through the map in Elden Ring, it is highly recommended they activate every Site of Grace along the way. As a result, if any unfortunate deaths occur, they will respawn at the nearest fast-travel location. From Dragonbarrow West, head slightly to the northeast to find the Dragonbarrow Map Fragment sitting on a pedestal near the main path. Once players have located Caelid’s two Map Fragments, they can see the entire region from their in-game map.
