The 32-year-old skater’s dance moves on the Olympics medal podium were noticed by BTS leader RM, who shared a clip of Yoon-gy’s celebration in an Instagram Story.
Kwak said he performed the dance as thanks to RM for being supportive during the 2022 Beijing Olympics.

He was bombarded with hate on social media after speaking out about alleged judging biases by the host country.
Chinese skater Ren Ziwei won gold in the men’s short track 1,000-meter final after Team Hungary’s Liu Shaolin Sandor was disqualified for “causing contact and for blocking another skater with his arm,” the New York Times reported.
Kwak filed a protest after Hwang Dae-heon and Lee June-seo were also disqualified in the same event during the semi-finals, while Park Hang-hyuk collided with a Chinese player in the quarter-finals, according to 7News.
“Looking at the way China won the gold medal, I felt bad that my younger teammates had to watch something like that,” he was quoted as saying. “I thought to myself ‘is this really what winning a gold medal is all about?’ Things all just felt very hollow.”
“If it had been any other country than China in that situation, I wondered if that team would still have been allowed to reach the final like that,” he added.
Kwak also competed in The Games in Vancouver in 2010 and in PyeongChang in 2018.

The athlete said he had dreamed of winning the gold medal in Beijing, and that the 2022 Winter Games may be his final Olympic event.
“It may be the last Olympic challenge in my life, but I am so thirsty for a real gold medal. I am so desperate,” Kwak said, according to his Olympics profile.
