Bombshells From RHOSLC's Jen Shah's Hulu Special, Including Insight From Ronald Richards

Hulu just dropped its Jen Shah documentary, the “Housewife and the Shah Shocker,” which revealed some significant bombshells about The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star.

In March 2021, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York revealed that Jen and her loyal assistant, Stuart Smith, had been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

At the time, Manhattan U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss released a statement that read, “Jennifer Shah, who portrays herself as a wealthy and successful businessperson on reality television, and Stuart Smith, who is portrayed as Shah’s ‘first assistant,’ allegedly generated and sold ‘lead lists’ of innocent individuals for other members of their scheme to repeatedly scam.”

Now with the release of the Hulu documentary, there is even more revealed about Jen’s shady dealings. Hulu interviewed family and friends to get the low down on the Shah Squad’s leader and what they discovered was not pretty.

Jen’s Lifestyle Was A Lie

Koa Johnson, who was the stylist getting yelled out on the leaked audio, had the last laugh as he revealed that all the ostentatious luxury Jen boasted about was just a sham.  Koa played a pivotal part in the show’s storyline as he revealed that his former boss was very “secretive.” Koa went on to kill the illusion of grandeur, saying, “The items that you see, like the fur coats, they’re not owned by her. And any of the large jewelry that you see on her, those are leased and borrowed as well.”

Bravo viewers were asked to recall a scene from Season 1 where Stuart was seen driving Jen around in the lap of luxury. Koa snarkily added, “Did Jen Shah drive around in a Porsche? Yes. Is she driving a Porsche now? No. Why? Well, it wasn’t her Porsche, that’s not her car.” Fans already knew she rented her Shah Chalet but didn’t know how deep her lack of assets went.

Jen Bullied Koa

The fashion stylist also addressed the regretable audio leak that caught his former employer berating him and threatening to beat him up. According to Koa, in “Every scene, she’s like screaming, and in real life, there are moments where she’s always screaming. She’s actually worse off-screen.”

Victims of The Scheme Lost Thousands

The saddest part of the documentary was when one of the alleged victims was able to tell their side of the story. Penny Pucket revealed that she bought services that didn’t exist from a company owned by Jen. Penny shared that she purchased a $97 plan to help boost her blanket, making business on social media because her husband’s farm was struggling to stay afloat. Sadly, she was duped into buying more and more, and it ended up costing her $29,000.
